San Cristobal

Genovesa

Genovesa (or Tower) Island; also known as Bird Island, because of the large and varied bird colonies which nest here. Short-eared Owls hunt Storm Petrels amongst the lava.
Isabela and Fernandina

Fernandina and Isabela are the two Westernmost islands, and also the oldest. The Marine Iguanas on Fernandina are the largest in the islands, and the Flightless Cormorant is found here.
Santiago and N. Seymour

Puerto Egas, on Santiago (James) Island, is known for its tide pools and lava grottos where Galapagos Fur Seals loll. North Seymour is a nesting area for Blue-footed Boobies and both species of Frigatebirds.
